Acupuncture

Acupuncture to Restore Balance, Ease Pain, and Regulate the Body.

Acupuncture is a medical system that works by signaling the nervous system to shift out of stress and into restoration. When the body feels safe, it begins to regulate more efficiently; specifically, hormonally, digestively, emotionally, and physically.

Modern research highlights that acupuncture influences the nervous system, circulation, and inflammatory pathways. Traditional Chinese Medicine understands this through the lens of qi, blood, and organ systems working in harmony.

In my practice, treatments are individualized to your constitution, symptoms, and life season. No two sessions are exactly the same. Each visit builds on the last, supporting sustainable healing rather than temporary relief.

 FAQs

  • Most people are surprised by how gentle acupuncture feels. The needles are extremely thin, significantly finer than needles used for injections, and around the width of a single strand of hair.

You may feel a small sensation upon insertion, followed by heaviness, warmth, tingling, or a subtle ache known as, “de-qi” sensation. Many patients become deeply relaxed and even fall asleep during treatment.

If you are nervous, we will move at your pace and comfort level.

  • Never.

All needles used in my practice are sterile. single-use, and safely disposed of after each treatment in accordance with California safely regulations.

  • Your first appointment includes a comprehensive intake, discussion of your health history and goals, tongue and pulse assessment, and your first acupuncture treatment.

You will rest comfortably on a treatment table for 20-30 minutes while the needles work their magic.

Plan to be at the office for 90 minutes for your initial visit.

  • Wear loose, comfortable clothing. It is helpful to have access to points on the arms, legs (below the knee), abdomen, and/or back.

If needed, draping is always provided to ensure you feel comfortable and respected.

Eat a light meal beforehand (please do not come on an empty stomach).

    Stay hydrated.

Bring a list of medications or supplements you are currently taking.

  • Acupuncture is overall very safe when performed by a licensed practitioner.

Occasionally, some patients may experience mild soreness, temporary fatigue, or emotional release. These are typically signs that the body is recalibrating back to balance.

  • Many patients feel deeply relaxed after treatment, while others notice increased energy or clarity. It is common to feel subtle shifts over the next 24-48 hours as the body continues to regulate.

Acupuncture works cumulatively. Each session builds on the last, supporting sustainable regulation rather than temporary relief.

For many conditions, a short series of treatments creates the momentum needed for lasting change.

Depending on your health goals and current patterns, treatments are often recommended weekly or biweekly at first. As your body stabilizes, visits can be spaced further apart.

Together, we’ll create a plan that feels supportive and realistic for you.
